Jock Wallace managed Glasgow Rangers FC twice, once in the late 1970s and again in the early eighties, finally leaving Rangers in 1985. Here he is suffering a Christmas defeat against old rivals Glasgow Celtic FC.

Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne played for Glasgow Rangers FC in the mid-nineties under Graham Souness and Walter Smith and also served England at national level. Gazza is now a troubled soul and I wish him well to get his life back on track.

Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup, Peirre van Hooydoonk and Paul McStay - Old Firm Favourites circa 1996.

Above is Alistair McCoist (Super-Ally) around 1996. He also played for Glasgow Rangers FC under Graham Souness and Walter Smith and served Scotland at national level. He was a TV pundit on ITV sports and BBC's "Question of Sport" until 2006. Ally is now assistant-manager at Rangers under manager Walter Smith.

Here is Sir Alex Ferguson in typically belligerent mood in 2006 with his then goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, which I drew for a good friend of mine. In my opinion, Ferguson, born in Govan, Glasgow is the greatest British manager of them all, having achieved unparalled success with Aberdeen and Manchester United.

The Wee Glesga Tram was a much loved mode of transport in Glasgow. The "Caurs" as they were affectionately known ran from Victorian times, when they were horse drawn, until the early 1960s when the electric tram service was withdrawn.

John Wayne starred in what remains my favourite motion picture of all time - John Ford's 1952 classic set in Ireland: The Quiet Man. Wayne co-starred with Maureen O'Hara, Victor McLaglen and Barry Fitzgerald in the story of an Irish-American ex-boxer who retires to the fictitious village in Ireland called Innisfree and falls for the beautiful red-headed O'Hara. The picture was actually filmed in the small picturesque village of Cong.
